  • Digital signal processing (DSP) is at the core of the communications revolution
  • This programme will give students a thorough introduction to all the different aspects of DSP as it relates to the communications landscape, as well as specialist knowledge from their choice of optional modules
  • Throughout the year students will study a set of core modules that give them an in-depth understanding of DSP, wireless communications, optical communications networks and complex issues around network security
  • Students will also select optional modules that are tailored to their own interests or career plans – students could focus on embedded microprocessor systems, high-speed internet architecture or other related topics
  • Over the summer months, students will work on their research projects. This may give them the chance to work as an integral part of one of active research institutes, focusing on a specialist topic of their choice and using the appropriate research methods
  • Students will study modules like Modern Industry Practice, Wireless Communications Systems Design, Digital Signal Processing for Communications, Optical Communications Networks, Data Communications and Network Security, etc.
  • This course is also an excellent base from which to pursue a PhD and possibly an academic career
