- Applicants must have passed high school
- First-time freshmen seeking admission at a public Texas four-year institution to meet one of the following college readiness standards:
- Successfully complete the Recommended or Advanced/Distinguished high school programs or a pre-college high school curriculum equivalent (mention below as pre-requisites)
- Earn at least:
- 1500 out of 2400 SAT assessment score (score considers: Verbal, Math, & Writing)(Exam dates prior to March 5, 2016) or
- Minimum score of 480 on the Evidenced-Based Reading and Writing (EBRW) test and a minimum score of 530 on the mathematics test (no combined score)(Exam dates on or after March 5, 2016)
- Prerequisites:
- English
- Laboratory science (least one credit must be in Biology, Chemistry, or Physics
- Mathematics (Must include Algebra I, Geometry, Algebra II and higher math)
