Entry Criteria

  • Applicants should have a high school degree from a recognized institution
  • The Prerequisites are:
    • English: Four units. Two units emphasizing composition or writing skills. One of the remaining two units may be in speech or debate
    • Mathematics: Four units (Algebra 1 and higher)
    • Science: Three units not including general science, one of the three units must be a laboratory course
    • Social Studies: Three units
    • Fine Arts: One unit
    • Foreign Language: Two units of a single foreign language
    • Math and foreign language units may be accepted from middle/junior high school.
  • Admission is granted to persons who have completed the pre-engineering program with a minimum grade point average of 2.75 over all their mathematics, chemistry, physics, and introductory (statics and dynamics) engineering courses.
  • Students with less than a 2.75-grade point average, but at least a C, in all their science, engineering, and mathematics courses may be admitted on a conditional basis.
