  • The BSc Biomedicine offers more flexibility than our IBMS-accredited BSc Biomedical Science by allowing students to tailor their degree to their personal and professional interests within the field of biomedicine
  • Students will study biochemistry, cell biology, genetics, and physiology – which are at the heart of modern medical and health research. These subjects are taught with a particular emphasis on the molecules and mechanisms fundamental to life processes and how these are disrupted by disease
  • In the first year, students will gain a thorough grounding in the general areas of biomedicine through the study of 15 wide-ranging core modules, including Biomedical Science in Practice, Infection and Immunity, and Protein Biochemistry
  • In the second and third years, students will study a small number of core modules such as Medical Microbiology and Medical Genetics. Students will then select their remaining modules from a wide range of options including Cellular Pathology, DNA Technology, Clinical Immunology, and Tropical Diseases
  • During the degree, students will conduct their own laboratory-based projects and benefit from the research experience of internationally renowned academics.
  • Students will also receive in-depth training in the key techniques associated with the modern biomedical practice

Entry Criteria

Class 12th75%
  • Applicants must have an Indian Certificate of Secondary Education (Standard XII)
  • The student must have passed with 75% to 87% average from the best 4 subjects, excluding Hindi and Physical Education
  • Required Subjects: A level Biology and one other science subject from Chemistry, Mathematics or Physics
ExamsIELTS: 6.5
with at least 6.0 in each component

  • Applicants with Indian Standard X English at 70% or above may fulfill the ELP requirement
