The course is divided into three phases:
- In phase one, Student meet patients and learn general principles underlying behavioural and basic medical science
- In phase two they learn about body systems and,
- In year three, undertake full-time clinical attachments and begin clinical training
- Between years two and three, Student may undertake an intercalated degree in a medical science or humanities subject
