Economics studies the allocation of scarce resources; the way that individuals, groups, governments, and businesses make choices; and the consequences of those choices for people, nations, and society
The undergraduate program has majors in three subject areas: Economics, Business Economics and Quantitative Economics

Class 12th	70% Applicants must complete both year X and XII state board or CBSE examinations, with average marks above 70 and no mark below 60 Applicant must have studied the following subjects: Two years of history/social science — One year of world history, cultures and geography and one year of U.S. history OR one half-year of U.S. history and one half-year of American government or civics Four years of English Three years of mathematics (four years recommended) — Must include algebra, geometry, and advanced algebra Two years of laboratory science (three years recommended) — Must include two of these three subjects: biology, chemistry, and physics Two years of a language other than English (three years recommended) — The second year or higher of the same language must be completed to fulfill this requirement One year of visual and performing arts — A yearlong course chosen from the following: dance, drama/theater, music, or visual art One year of college preparatory electives
