  • This degree will provide students with the skills needed to both conduct comprehensive health, wellness, and fitness assessments, and develop programming to address the needs of clients, patients, and populations
  • Students will be equipped to assess the outcomes associated with these intervention strategies and prepared to implement changes accordingly
  • Students of the Health Sciences Program will have opportunities to gain the necessary knowledge and skills to factor prominently into a variety of healthcare arenas, including human performance, strength & conditioning, corporate wellness, exercise physiology, health education, cardiopulmonary rehabilitation, and community health & wellness
  • The Health Sciences Program consists of two primary tracks:
    • An Integrated Health Track: It is designed for students that desire to enter the healthcare workforce upon graduation
    • Pre-Health Track: It is designed for students that are already committed to a professional degree program at Duquesne or that have aspirations of pursuing a professional degree elsewhere following graduation
  • Both tracks will afford students the flexibility to expand and customize their education to align with areas of professional interest and to meet trending healthcare demands

  • Students are required to meet the Technical Standards/Performance Indicators to ensure that they have sufficient abilities to meet the rigorous work expectations of a student studying Health Sciences
  • Students do not have SAT or ACT scores, or believe their scores do not reflect their academic achievement and ability to be successful at Duquesne, they may choose to apply as a Test Optional candidate
  • Students without TOEFL or IELTS scores are tested on campus with Accuplacer exam and Writing Sample and are then placed into appropriate coursework upon completion
