  • The applicant should be a high school graduate or be scheduled to graduate before enrolling at IUPUI
  • The extent to which the student meets or exceeds the minimum subject requirements indicated below is considered. For admission to the School of Science, the student’s record should include the following course work
    • English
    • History and Social Science
    • Algebra
    • Geometry
    • Trigonometry
    • Laboratory Science
    • Combination of the foreign language, additional mathematics, laboratory  science, social science, or computer science courses
  • Applicants are strongly encouraged to complete AP science and mathematics courses if available at their high school
  • Applicants considering majors in physics are also encouraged to complete a calculus course in high school

  • Students with TOEFL scores of 60+ or IELTS 5.5+ are eligible for admission but should anticipate taking additional English for Academic Purposes courses along with their academic program
  • IUPUI will be adopting a test-optional policy starting in Spring 2021
    • This new policy means the university does not require SAT or ACT test scores for admission or merit scholarship consideration
    • Instead, the university holistically reviews each application for its individual merits and qualities, including academic performance and preparation, the strength and quality of the school curriculum, the applicant's recent grade trends, and class rank
  • Students should declare a major when applying for admission so a departmental advisor can be assigned
