A degree in journalism prepares students with essential skills including: writing, speaking, critical thinking and technology
Journalism major prepares students to be digital storytellers, reporters, editors, designers for print, broadcast or online media, photojournalists, or communicators in government, with non-profit organizations or in the corporate world
Students demonstrate an understanding of the history and role of professionals and institutions in shaping communications
Graduates will be able to conduct research and evaluate information by methods appropriate to the communications professions in which they work

Class 12th	No specific cutoff mentioned Applicants should have an above-average academic record at least equivalent to a "B-" average (2.60 out of 4.00) or be in the top 60% of their class with suitable academic preparation Students should also complete the following core courses with a “C” average or above: 4 years of English 3 years of advanced math—Algebra I and higher 3 years of laboratory science 3 years of social science 1 year of fine arts (or AP Fine Arts score of 3 or above) Includes vocal, instrumental and studio arts Basic computer skills (students should have basic keyboarding, word processing, spreadsheet and internet skills) Students who are homeschooled or attend a non-accredited high school must submit an official transcript and ACT or SAT scores for review SAT Math and Reading/Writing subscores must total 950 or higher
Exams	TOEFL: 61 IELTS: 5.5 SAT: Accepted Exam is not required but is encouraged and strongly recommended for applicants
