- The main objective of this program is to provide an undergraduate technical education in electrical engineering to assure its graduates a successful practice in the profession
- Electrical engineers design and develop electronic circuits, equipment and systems in the areas of electromagnetics, communications and control, computers and digital systems, physical electronics and optics, power systems and energy conversion, and control systems
- By the appropriate choice of technical area courses, the student may emphasize the following areas of specialization:

- computers and digital systems,
- power and energy conversion and control systems
- Graduates of the Electrical Engineering program are expected to achieve the following student learning outcomes:
- an ability to apply knowledge of mathematics, science, and engineering
- an ability to design and conduct experiments, as well as to analyze and interpret data
- an ability to design a system, component, or process to meet desired needs within realistic constraints such as economic, environmental, social, political, ethical, health and safety, manufacturability, and sustainability
