  • This programme will equip students with specialist knowledge in this exciting field and allow them to explore a range of topics in computer science
  • Core modules will give students a foundation in topics like systems programming and algorithms, as well as the basics of machine learning and knowledge representation
  • Students will also choose from optional modules focusing on topics like bio-inspired computing or text analytics, or broaden their approach with topics like mobile app development
  • Students will also gain a broad perspective on intelligent systems, covering evolutionary models, statistical and symbolic machine learning algorithms, qualitative reasoning, image processing, language understanding and bio-computation as well as essential principles and practices in the design, implementation and usability of intelligent systems
  • Core modules in Semester 1 will lay the foundations of the programme by giving students an understanding of the key topics of algorithms and systems programming, as well as the basic principles of automated reasoning, machine learning and how computers can be made to represent knowledge
  • Over the summer months students will also work on their research project. This gives them the chance to work as an integral part of one of active research groups, focusing on a specialist topic in computer science and selecting the appropriate research methods

  • Applicants must have a bachelor degree with a 2:1 (hons) in computer science or a comparable subject with a substantial computing element
  • Relevant work experience will also be considered
  • Applicants are expected to have a significant programming competence and prior experience of systems development and knowledge of data structures and algorithms

  • With no less than 6.0 in each section

  • With at least 60 in each of the skills

  • Applicants with a 70-75% in English in 12th depending on state board can fulfil English language proficiency
  • Due to competition for places and the volume of applications received, the deadline for international applicants has been brought forward to 13 December 2019 for September 2020 intake
