  • Master of Science in Civil Engineering is offered by the Department of Civil, Construction, and Environmental Engineering requires a minimum of 30 semester hours of approved coursework
  • Two options are available:- Research Thesis (Plan I) and Paper/Report (Plan II)
  • Research Thesis (Plan I):- The thesis option is a research-focused program that includes conducting original research, writing a research thesis and defending the thesis to the student’s graduate supervisory committee
  • Paper/Report (Plan II):- The paper/report, or non-thesis, option requires a research paper, policy and practice paper, or equivalent culminating experience, which is graded by the student’s graduate advisor
  • Graduates will be able to Specify or design an experiment to meet a need, conduct the experiment, and analyze and explain the resulting data
  • Graduates will also be able to Synthesize advanced technical knowledge in a traditional or emerging area of knowledge in a specialized area of civil or environmental engineering

  • An applicant must have earned a baccalaureate degree from an institution accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Council (EAC) of ABET Inc. and have a GPA of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale, or at least 3.0 for the last 60 hours completed
  • An applicant who is not a graduate of EAC/ABET-accredited programs must have Graduate Record Examination general test scores of 300 or higher and have a GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale.
