Also called WCU, West Coast University is a private university that offers degree programmes related to healthcare. The university was founded in 1979 as the American Career College by David Pyle under the name of American College of Optics. Initially, the institute focused only on optical dispensing. In the year 1997, the founder acquired West Coast University and introduced a programme for the training of registered nurses. The university is now officially certified with WASC College and University Commission. West Coast University has five locations. These include the Los Angeles campus, the Orange County campus, the Ontario campus, the Dallas campus and the Miami campus.
The university’s centre of graduate studies is in the heart of Los Angeles with a great surrounding. Every campus of the university is equipped with modern classrooms, science labs, computer labs, skills labs, and advanced Simulation Centers. The Simulation Centers for Nursing are appointed with high-tech facilities. These staff members include nurse practitioners, dental hygienists, dentists, and healthcare professionals.
