Established in 1851, The University of Minnesota is an open research university associated with AAU, BTAA, and APLU. The university is considered among the best open research universities in the United States and has been ranked 14th in research activity. The University of Minnesota Twin Cities campus stretches more than 1,150 acres in Minneapolis and St. Paul.
