- This program is designed to give students the knowledge and hands-on experience in aviation and management, as well as provide co-operative work experience in the aviation industry
- Aviation courses focus on aircraft, airline and airport operations, aviation safety and security and flight systems and navigation
- Students will gain a solid understanding of the aviation industry in Canada and around the world
- Management courses are designed to give students an understanding of business and management practices of marketing, human resource management, communications and project management to be prepared for future promotional opportunities
- Students will be given the opportunity to pass the examination to receive their Restricted Aeronautical Radio Operation License
- The program also provides graduates with a better chance of success in furthering their training with the Department of National Defense or to become air traffic controllers, commercial/airline pilots, and flight service specialists
- The graduate has reliably demonstrated the ability to:
- Execute radio communications in accordance with Industry Canada guidelines and obtain a Restricted Radiotelephone Operators Certificate
- Examine the Canadian and international aviation regulatory bodies and utilize Canadian aviation industry regulations
- Utilize principles of management to operate and administer airport and airline operations in an effective and efficient manner
- Apply accounting, finance, and human resource principles to manage airport and airline operations
- Apply the knowledge of modern aircraft technology, aerodynamics, and meteorology to maintain the safe operation of aircraft, etc.
