The study of communications addresses many contemporary questions:
- Who controls the media and why?
- What shape does communication take in today’s global world?
- What are the different media technologies and to whom are they targeted?
Communication studies address these questions and others as it critically examines the role and development of communication in modern society.
Students pursuing a bachelor of arts with a major in communication studies will normally take the following courses in their first year:
- English
- Communication Studies
- Language Study
- Quantitative Reasoning

Class 12th	50% Applicants must hold one of the following: Higher Secondary School Certificate Higher Secondary Certificate Indian School Certificate Intermediate Examination Certificate All India or Delhi Senior School Certificate Pre-University Certificate Subjects required: English Mathematics Laboratory Science (Biology, Chemistry, or Physics) Social Studies or Modern/Classical Language Elective Applicants must get a minimum overall grade of 50% in the required subject areas and this will normally be considered equivalent to no more than two grades less than 50% and a “pass” in all 5 subject areas
Exams	TOEFL: 79 A minimum score of 20 in reading and writing, and not less than 17 in listening and speaking. IELTS: 6.5 At least a band 6 in reading and writing PTE: 58 A minimum score of 58 in each of the reading, writing, listening and speaking
Additional info	Applicants should be waived off from ELP if they have successful completion of three years of full-time instruction in an English language secondary institution including the completion of English at the Grade 12 or equivalent level.
