This program is for foreign nationals who can create their own employment, by contributing athletically, culturally, or artistically to Canada’s job market. People with sufficient funds and relevant work experience can apply for the Self-employed Program. There is no minimum net worth and/or investment requirement for this program. However, self-employed applicants need to demonstrate that they have sufficient funds to settle in Canada along with their dependents and finance the work for which their selection is based.

A business visitor is an individual coming temporarily to Canada with the purpose of engaging in international business activities, without being part of the Canadian labour/job market. Business visitors usually stay in Canada for a few days or a few weeks but can stay for up to 6 months.
